How To Eat Six Small Meals Each Day For Weight Loss

Eating 6 smaller meals each day is a good way of helping you to lose weight. Find out what you can do to make this transition much easier and actually fit into your lifestyle.

Many people are told that they should be eating six small meals each day instead of eating the traditional diet of three main meals with some snacks. It is a good way to control portions, keep your metabolism going, and help you lose weight. Many aren't sure how to do this.

You need to calculate the number of calories you need to eat each day for weight loss then divide by six. For many people this means that the meals will be anywhere from 250 to 350 calories each meal.

You will need to eat about every two and a half to three hours during the day. The first meal starts when you wake up. The last meal should be done about three hours before you go to bed. This is very frequent compared to what you are used to.

Find snacks that fit in your meal calorie range. If you are eating 300 calories a meal, find things around this range that you can take with you that are easy to eat. Many times with work, you might not have a stopping point to eat. This makes it much easier on you.

Many times you will be hungry with these smaller meals. There are things that you can do to control the hunger when eating like this.

If you are hungry, try to bear with it. The next meal is only a few hours away. It will take about 20 minutes for your body to recognize the food you ate. At this point, you need to be a little patient and you will be eating soon enough again.

Your stomach is used to being stretched out after you eat. This will not happen when you eat smaller meals. It's going to take months to get used to this. Drink more water as it will help between meals when you become hungry. Try to drink water as much as you can throughout the day.
